The rent and security deposit are paid, business insurance is purchased, and there’s money to build out the shelves as soon as we get the keys to the new spot. Thanks to the last tenant leaving early, we can get in a full three weeks ahead of schedule. The last piece of the puzzle, a mere formality, is the uploading of the insurance certificate to a third-party portal my real estate company uses. Once they know I’m insured, it’s go time.
There was a typo in the agent’s email address. Then there was a question of wording of the address on the document. The property manager saw the discrepancy and warned me they’d kick it back. The agent requested new documents. Everyone went to lunch. I told the shelf guy he was free to go do another job, and we’d try again tomorrow.
That set the tone for the whole day.
