I’m totally naked in this picture

I took a shower the other day, one of those “I skipped yesterday and then exercised and if I don’t take this shower right now I’ll crawl out of my own skin” showers.  It was only a minute or two in when I noticed the water getting cooler.  The novelty of really hot showers still hasn’t worn off since we replaced our water heater a couple years ago, and as I’ve mentioned a hundred times, I’m sensitive to cold now, so it registered right away.

By the time I got the shampoo rinsed out of my hair and could get out, the water was running fully cold, and I was shivering uncontrollably.  It was the middle of the day but I was mentally checked out for the duration.  All I could think about was something else broken, another service call from a plumber, another reminder that I don’t know how to fix shit and that my skill set doesn’t translate to making switches and buttons and faucets work in the real world.

“Jacked up hot water heater, huh? Have you tried writing a blog at it?”
