There’s an immutable truth behind every form of government, from the divine right of kings to the most direct and representative democracy:

There are some real dumb motherfuckers out there.

When a comedian says this, they get applause from rooms full of people, some of whom, statistically, must be some of those dumb motherfuckers.   If you put 200 customers in a club full of booze, it’s a good bet some of them didn’t use their turn signals once while getting there.  There’s a reason “not you guys, you’re cool” is a universal go-to during jokes like that.
