Here’s a little seasonally-appropriate proof of life on one of my “new” games, Rabbits and Robots, a project that should have been start-to-finish in a weekend but has lingered for a while now on the ol’ hard drive.  I got back into it yesterday, with all the expected metaphorical leg cramps of a retired sprinter going for a jog around the block, and after a brief speed bump where I started working on an old build of the code and almost rewrote a bunch of shit I’d already done, I made some serious progress.

My original plan was to come up with a simple, timeless kind of board game, like Knight’s Tour or Giant and Dwarves*, two BASIC staples with limited playfields and moves.  You control the Robots, who are trying to clear and maintain a path across the board, while the Rabbits mill around munching green space, leaving dirt in their path, and destroying conduits whenever they encounter one (that’s some bunny).
