Slow Day Afternoon
Payday in dystopia
Another slow week is wrapping up. By now I’m overshared my recurring impostor syndrome enough that you probably already know what my brain’s doing. I made no sales for a week while on vacation, came home to a decent enough weekend surge, and now I’ve had multiple days of paltry orders and good stuff left sitting on the shelves. I paid rent on the first of the month, but I squirmed while clicking the button.
I’m known for overreacting when things seem to go off the rails, but it’s hard not to. Is this the beginning of a big slump? I haven’t tried to run a small business during the active dismantling of an empire before. How many casual record buyers’ pain points have been reached at the gas pump? How bad’s it gonna get when all the groceries being delivered by diesel at $7 per gallon start getting marked up even further?
